It's portfolio building week!! Today you will get back your edited resumes and cover letters. The corrections should be made and then they can be printed and put into your portfolios. This is the week to get everything put together so please bring in supplies and pictures over the next few days.
Today we are looking at how to get a job and the hidden job market (see slide show on resource page). You will have the rest of the time to work on your portfolio assignment.
Today we are beginning to build our portfolios. You will be given a portfolio and begin to make the title pages for the various sections of the binder. If you haven't completed your resume and cover letter that must be done as well.
Today is our last day working with our Resume and Cover letters. These should be printed and edited and ready to be marked by the end of class today.
We are just now coming to the end of our work on Resumes and will start on our cover letter today. You will choose a job that you are pretending to be applying for and write a cover letter for that job. This will go with your resume and be placed in your portfolio. Your goal is to have a printed resume by the end of today's class and potentially a cover letter.
We are working on building Resumes today.You can either use the template provided by my blue print...which will give you a functional resume or design your own. Please look at the resume verbs provided to help with showing your skills acquired in each job or volunteer experience you've had. ![]()

Today we are going to try and get most of our My Blueprint information completed. We will make sure that we finish our career planning and our education planning today.
We're in a google hangout with chatterhigh to start class today and then we're going to set up our myblueprint accounts at www.myblueprint.com
Today we will try our hand at our first Chatter high quiz. Go to www.chatterhigh.com. This sight will allow you to take a series of quizzes and earn points to win prizes. The goal is to learn more about the different types of careers and programs out there. After we will work on our Personal Mission statements as outlined in the career section of the CALM web page. These Personal Mission Statements are due next week.
