I am away at a conference on this day. You will begin your leadership assignments today. Each leadership group has a different assignment so make sure that if you are in Leadership 20 or Leadership 10 that you get the right material.

Today we will start class off by finishing our work for our projects and then use the second period to work on "lean on Me". If there is time, you will all be required to write a journal explaining the process by which Joe Clark was able to become an effective leader in all areas.
We are continuing our work from yesterday. To begin class, we will head outside and do a reflective activity called the "Leadership traits race". I will list some leadership traits and for each one that you possess, you will take a step forward. Then we will debrief this activity. After we are watching the film "Lean on me" and taking notes about the leadership traits (both good and bad) that are shown in this film. The last half hour of class will be spent on projects.
Today we are starting our course work on leadership skills. You will be introduced to the five essential competencies of leadership: Inspiring a shared vision, modeling the way, encouraging the heart, enabling others to act, and challenging the process. To start class you will be given three cue cards and asked to think of a leader that has made a difference in your life. On each cue card you will put a quality that the person possesses. As a class we will then tape each quality under one of the five essential competencies. At the end of class you will be given time to work on your projects
We'll start class today with a leadership challenge. Hide and Seek. Somewhere in the school I have hidden two objects. You are split into two teams today. You can only send one person out to find the object at a time. They will have one minute and then they need to come back to their group and report their findings. The challenge ends when the group finds the object they are searching for.
We will debrief this activity and then finish our work on our projects. We present our ideas tomorrow at the staff meeting.
Today we will start class off with a leadership challenge - Creating commonalities through tooth paste art...very cool. It's then time to get down to the nitty gritty of organizing our projects. Spaces need to be booked, emails sent to ask for supervisors, permission forms done, posters made, supply lists made, help organized etc.
We will begin class with a team builder called reverse charades. We then update our citizenship points and then we need to finalize our planning for our projects. *Kudos to the team that helped with the community barbeque. We had lots of awesome feedback!
Today we need to complete organization for the opening football game and community barbeque. This will involve getting the word out to others, determining what we need for our face paint etc, making noise makers etc.
We will start class off with a "Simon Says" activity which is a metaphor for planning leadership events. After discussing some of the fundamentals of planning we will go over paper work requirements and then you will then be given the rest of class to work on planning your activities.
