We will do our vocabulary and the next grammar gambit.

We will read chapters 14 (180) - 16 (208).  We will take a chance to make a character chart to review character names and make sure that we know who everyone is and what we know about him/her.

We will also take time today collecting evidence for our final essay.  Topics can be found in your Google classroom.

Class will begin with vocabulary and then work on balanced sentences.
We will then do a short writing assignment that requires students to get into the mind of one of the other characters and retell an incident from the text.  You will have one half hour to write.
We will read chapters 12 and 13 today and discuss a little about "propriety" and the benefits and draw backs from social rules.

Today we are going to practice our vocabulary and start our grammar gambit on Balanced Sentences.

We will take a quick quiz on our assigned reading as you should have read up to the end of part 1.

We will discuss "Maycomb's Usual Disease" and see if Caroline also has this disease at times.

We will discuss the symbolism of the mockingbird and why the novel says "it's a sin to kill a Mockingbird".

We will discuss different types of strength and which ones we value the most.

We will discuss Mrs. Dubose and what we learn from her character

If time, we will do a quick writing assignment where we will take on the voice of one of the minor characters and write about one event from chapters 9, 10 and 11 (could be Alexandra, Miss Maudie, Francis, Mrs. Dubose etc.)
