Today will be an introduction to the Elizabethans and the Globe theatre. We will be organizing our classroom in an impromptu Globe theatre sitting. It's going to be a good time!!
The reading comprehension part of your unit final. This will most likely take you less than one class. After this you will be working on some new vocabulary for Shakespeare. First you must go through 10 new words on our www.bigiqkids.com website. This should take you to the end of the first period.
During our second period we are going to start working on dealing with the language of Shakespeare in a closer context. To become more familiar with some new words, we will go through them and then each of you will be pairing up with a partner and creating a Shakespearean conflict. We will use words lists from: http://www.bathcsd.org/webpages/edepartment/shakespearean_terms.cfm and http://www.pangloss.com/seidel/shake_rule.html If we have time, we will perform these today and if not we will present them tomorrow. In-class essay. When you are finished you can work on finishing your project or studying for your unit exam tomorrow,
In the first period we will be taking a quick quiz on socrative and then you will be playing jeopardy for review for the rest of the class.
In the second period we will begin the process of transferring the research on to an outline. We will look at what is in an introduction and the body of the essay. These outlines must be completed and handed in with your essay. Your inclass essay is on Thursday. Essay preparation and research sheets are due today. You have this class to finish your visual project. You won't be given any more time to work on this.
