Today we are going to start by playing on membean...a cool vocabulary development site. The free trial only lasts a month but it's pretty cool.
We are then going to have some fun with language. We'll start by each of us writing a simple sentence and then we will exchange papers and build a compound sentence, then a complex compound sentence, then a balanced sentence, then we'll add adjectives and then adverbs and then we'll get our papers back and see what happened!!
After this, everyone is going to brainstorm the most relaxing moment they can think of. They will write this down. Then we will all have to think of a metaphor for that moment and write this down.
We'll finish class by working on our plans for our writing assignment tomorrow.
